چکیده

The experiment was conducted to evaluate the nature and extent of genotype environment interactions, select stable high yielding taro genotypes for fresh storage corm yield, related traits identify most representative discriminating in southwest Ethiopian regions. study tested across four environments (Jimma, Agaro, Gera, Metu) two cropping seasons Ethiopia. Nine selected promising one standard check (Denu) were evaluated by using RCBD that replicated three times. important data collected from all location analyzed different statistical software’s. result showed significant differences (p<0.01) genotype, environment, interactions (GEI) effects exceptions root length. It also revealed mean square more than those GEI targeted indicated uniqueness test environment. 053 133 identified as an ideal being yield wider adaptability hence nominated release then production. GGE bi-plot Agaro-2 Gera-2 their useable traits. Four mega-environments (MGE) breeding; where Agaro-22, Gera-2, Gera-1 combined into MGE-1, Metu-1, Jimma-1 fell a separate MGE-2, Jimma-2 Agaro-1 pooled MGE-3, Metu-2 separated MGE-4, respectively.

Genetic Diversification and Dispersal of Taro (Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schott)

Taro (Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schott) is widely distributed in tropical and sub-tropical areas. However, its origin, diversification and dispersal remain unclear. While taro genetic diversity has been documented at the country and regional levels in Asia and the Pacific, few reports are available from Americas and Africa where it has been introduced through human migrations. We used eleven mic...

Stability Analysis of Genotype × Environment Interaction Effect on Sugar Yield in Sugar Beet Hybrids

Testing plant varieties under different regions is necessary to assess their stability. In this study, 17 sugar beet genotypes were evaluated in a randomized complete block design with six replications in five regions including Karaj, Hamedan, Miandoab, Mashhad, and Shiraz. After checking the homogeneity of mean squares in five experiments by Bartlett’s test, analysis of the combined was per...

genotype, environment and genotype × environment interaction effects on the performance of maize (zea mays l.) inbred lines

based on principal component analysis (pca), gge biplot analysis is an effective method to fully assess multienvironmental yield trials (mets). additive main effects and multiplicative interaction (ammi) is an alternative method for assessing phenotypic stability and adaptability. in this research, met data of 14 maize inbred lines were used to perform ammi and gge biplot analyses. these genoty...
